About The Course The opening holes are set amongst mature trees, which require several straight and long shots to achieve par figures. The 3rd is particularly testing with a strategically placed pond and water hazard which crosses the fairway where most players second or third shot would typically land.
The middle section of the course, from the 6th to the 15th hole, is nicely maturing into parkland. The 12th hole, at 600 yards long, has seen some memorable happenings, including an albatross two and has been reached with a driver and a wedge! Most mortals are happy to record par at this stroke index one hole.
The final three holes are played over and around Harlestone Lake, where the view from the clubhouse of these holes is one of the finest in the country. The 16th hole par 3 over the lake is our signature hole, played to a two tier green, often into a swirling breeze. Club selection here is vital and most players are happy to avoid the imposing lake.
The course is a fair test of golf for all players of all handicaps and the local wildlife present in the woods and lakes and the clean countryside air contribute to a pleasant experience at one of the Midlands finest courses.
