In the interest of maintaining reasonable standards of dress, Northampton Golf Club requires that all members and visitors comply with the following dress code policies and restrictions. Exceptions may only be made for young children & babies.
ON THE GOLF COURSE (Golfers & Caddies)
GENTLEMEN:
- Recognised Golf Shoes (SOFT SPIKES preferred) must be worn.
- Tailored Trousers (which may NOT be tucked into socks) or Tailored Golf Shorts (which may not cover the knees) with Long socks OR with Ankle Length Sports Socks, which should be predominantly WHITE.
- Recognised Golf Shirts or Shirts with a Collar and Sleeves and must be tucked into Shorts or Trousers.
- Golf Caps and Headwear must be worn as it is designed to do so.
Not permitted:
Blue or Faded Denim Jeans, Cargo Pants or Combat Trousers, Rugby/Football/Athletic Shorts, Football and Rugby Socks are not permitted. Long Socks may not be rolled down. Sleeveless or Collarless Shirts or Shirts with indiscreet slogans or logos are not permitted. Training Shoes or other Non-Golfing shoes are not permitted.
LADIES:
- Recognised Golf Shoes (SOFT SPIKES preferred) must be worn.
- Tailored Trousers, Skirts or Golf Shorts.
- Recognised Golf Shirts or Shirts with a Collar. Ladies however may wear tops outside their Trousers, Skirts or Shorts when they are designed to do so.
- Golf Caps and Headwear must be worn as it is designed to do so.
Not permitted:
Blue or Faded Denim Jeans, Leggings and Tight-Fitting Pants are not permitted. Sun Tops, Plunging Necklines or Shirts with indiscreet slogans or logos are not permitted. Training Shoes or other Non-Golfing shoes are not permitted.
Mobile Phones: Golfers may take phones onto the Golf Course for Emergencies Only and must be in Silent Mode.
IN THE CLUB HOUSE (Minimum Dress Standards)
- AT ALL TIMES: Smart Casual or Golf Wear as stated above (Soiled or Wet Clothing is NOT acceptable).
- SOCIAL FUNCTIONS: Smart Casual but the Organisers may stipulate a "higher" standard of dress for specific functions.
- PRIVATE FUNCTIONS: (where the Clubhouse is hired and there is no interaction with Club Members): Smart Casual.
- DINING ROOM ON SUNDAYS: Jacket & Tie or Smart Casual.
- Shoes and socks must be worn at all times (Sandals may be worn without Socks during the Summer Months).
- Mobile Phones may NOT be used for conversation in the Clubhouse but may be used ONLY in the Car Park or on the Clubhouse Balcony.
Not Permitted:
- Golf shoes (except in the Spike Bar), Training Shoes or Flip Flops.
- Golf Hats or Headwear of any kind.
- All unacceptable course clothing as listed above.
PERSONS NOT SUITABLY ATTIRED WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE COURSE OR PREMISES
THE SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CLUB PRESENT AT ANY TIME MAY RELAX THE ABOVE AT THEIR DISCRETION
